K.C. & Her B'day Card

The card was so funny, she had to sign it before she opened it then it had this long letter about how she had all she needed and presents weren't necessary on the inside and when you opened it her signature was below the letter - she almost stroked...LOL

Summer Reading Program July 2004

K.C. loves to read and to sun - leave it up to her to make both go hand in hand.

K.C. & Candace @ Graduation

Candace has been K.C.'s best friend since they were babies. This was taken on Candace's graduation night in May 2004.

Updated January 2005

The newest pictures are from out trip to visit Heather the week of Christmas 2004.  K.C. really loved getting to see her sister and meeting her half brother and sisters as well as getting to see her mom again.  We are all looking forward to visiting with them again soon!  I was excited to find out that Heather is a craft person and loves to scrapbook.  I am hoping to get to see her again soon and do some scrapbooking with her.

The trip to see Heather was our biggest Christmas present ever, but we all enjoyed other holiday celebrations.  We spent the weekend before Christmas with my family for Christmas and then had Uncle Larry, Susan, Christy and Dale over on Christmas day to share Christmas with.  We brought in the New Year staying close to the house and shooting pool on our pool table.

I guess that is about all the updates from us.  I am still working at home, K.C. is still going to school and Larry is still on the road most of the week and home on weekends.  I hope 2005 is being great to all of you!

Hugs from all of us...

Summer has come and gone as far as the school year is concerned.  K.C. is now a Junior in High School.  She is still working at Steak-n-Shake - at least as long as she keeps her grades up!  LOL  She chose to spend a majority of her time this summer working, so no big traveling was done.

Since being back in school, she has turned her focus to choosing a career path and college.  At this point in time she is saying she wants to work in law and be a paralegal, preferably for a firm that handles mostly juvenile cases.  Her college choices here in state for that field are very good and it will be interesting to see which one she decides upon - assuming she stays on this chosen career path.  She has joined a few clubs at school and is really excited to be in the Key Club which is a club that does charity work for needy children, elderly, etc.

Other than school and work, she spends the rest of her time hanging out with friends - sometimes I have to check to make sure she still lives here!

She has informed me it is time to start looking for class rings as she doesnt like the one the school is offering so guess that will be our next project now that we have survived school clothes shopping.

She was excited to turn 17 and although there was no huge party, I think she had a great birthday. She traded in the party scene for shopping sprees with her Aunt, Nene and myslef.  Between her Aunt Christie, my mom, Nene, my credit cards, and all her friends she really racked up a nice slew of presents!  Almost made me want to be 17 again - but not!!

I guess that is about all there is to update.  If you want to email her, she is now back online (although she doesn't slow down enough to check her email but every other week) and can be emailed at katrina0805@bellsouth.net.

Hugs from all of us to all of you!!

There are a few new pictures of K.C.  Not a whole lot has gone on the past month.  Unfortunately K.C. and Chris broke up.  She broke up with him - he said he was in love with her and she just wasn't ready for that type of relationship, they say they are still friends and he is desperately hoping her feelings will change over time, I guess we will see.  I think Larry and I miss him being around all the time much more than she does!  LOL  She isn't dating anyone else at the moment, although she has a huge crush on a couple of the young construction workers that are working on the remodeling we are having done on the outside of the house.

She just started a job at Steak & Shake, a restaurant here in town.  She somehow decided she would make better money in tips as a waitress than she made at the YMCA last year.  We'll see how she still feels about the job in a few weeks.  She's out of training and on her on this coming Tuesday (5-18-04) and is nervous and excited at the same time.

This week will be her last at school and she will only attend to take two exams and check out the rest of the time.  She has to take 2 of her 4 exams...she is exempt from the other two for having high grades already.

We have altered our vacation plans due to her taking a job that will require more hours and weekends.  Larry and I will be going to Chattanooga to celebrate our anniversary the end of this week and she is spending some time with her Granny (my mom) and all the animals on the farm.  In June or July, her and I and my mom will take an all girls trip to the beach.  Edna had promised the summer she turned 17 to take her to the beach and she has always remembered this, so Mom and I are playing fill ins.  We are working on taking a cruise next summer before her Senior year as we know her Senior Summer we will be ditched for a trip with her friends.

We recently added a beagle pup to the family.  We named her Daisy Lou and K.C. loves her of course as she loves all animals.  She spends a lot of time rolling around in the floor with her.  She is pictured above and is 6 weeks old in those pictures.

I guess that's about all the updates from this side of the world for now.  I'll be adding more next month.  We all hope you are each in great spirits and health.

Hugs from all of us!

Hope that those who adore her and live so far away will be able to enjoy keeping up with what's going on with her this way.

Currently, K.C. is awaiting the end of school and looking for her next summer job.  She will possibly return to the YMCA as a counselor this summer but wants to also look into some other options.  She also carries two children to their after school activities for a family friend and they have requested her to babysit full time this summer for them, so who knows exactly what she will end up doing.

She is currently dating a great guy named Chris - we feel like he's part of the family, he just fits right in with us and is a very respectful gentlemen, which her Daddy and I really love.  They met mid January and he officially asked her to "go out" (current term for being his steady) with him on Valentine's.  They spend alot of time watching movies here at the house and eating dinner out with us.  We figured we would never see her once she started dating, but are loving the fact that her and Chris both enjoy hanging out with a couple of old married people!

She is also spending a lot of time researching specific fields she feels she may want to work in after her education and planning for college.  She has always dreamed of working with animals but is also learning that she is very interested in law.  She is making A's & B's in school right now which keeps us really proud of her.

She just returned from Spring Break last week.  She spent 4 days at the beach with her best friend Tiffany and her family.  K.C. is now convinced that she wants to go to college near a beach and live on the beach when she gets older.  I am hoping to convince her that the middle of Alabama is much cooler than the beach!  LOL

She is anxious to get her braces off this summer as well as decide what she is going to do as far as a summer job.  She plans to be a member of the swim team again next school year, so will be doing some swimming to get in shape for that.  She also is enjoying helping us decide where to spend our summer vacation.  Her and I both want to go to New Orleans and take all the historical tours and spend a couple nights on a River Boat cruise...hopefully we will both convince Larry this is where we should go before to long!

I guess that is all for now.  I'll try to update the page in the near future and will send an email when I do so.

Hope you all are doing well and having a wonderful day!
